Ready-made children's sizes assume a height-to-girth ratio that many kids simply do not have; here the pattern is drafted from the child's current height, chest, waist and hips, so it fits today. The dungarees can be shortened to a playsuit and have a grow-with-me option that adds room where a child grows first. All four are quick, forgiving projects in cotton or jersey; the dungarees, with their straps and bib, are the only one rated medium.
